WWE Trading Cards
I watch WWE Raw and Smackdown every week. They’ve been advertising Topps trading cards all year long. The collector in me says, “That looks fun. I should buy some. My daughter, wife and I could have fun opening them up.”
They’ve been sold out on the Topps website. I haven’t tried very hard to buy them anywhere else. I assume that trading card shops may have had some. I never checked.
Topps had a new run of cards for sale today online. They went on sale at 12:00. I looked at them at 12:05.
The only thing they had for sale was something called a Hobby Box. This product is $279.99. It contains 8 packs of cards. Each pack contains 4 cards. Each box is guaranteed to have an autographed card inside.
I haven’t bought trading cards since the mid 90s when Magic: The Gathering debuted. Is this normal now? Is a $35 pack of cards normal? Is it normal for the cost of a single card to be $8.75? What are these cards made out of?
By 12:13, they were sold out. I’m ok with that.
